Why paper studio logs matter
Digital studio apps are great, but wet clay, glaze slurry, and dusty studio hands do not mix well with touchscreens. Physical studio logs in a 3-ring binder stay accessible right at your wheel, glaze table, or kiln area.
Templates included in this suite
- Kiln Firing Log Sheet: Track ramp times, target cone vs witness cone bend, kiln load notes, and operator logs for repeatable firing results.
- Glaze Test & Recipe Record: Document base recipe material percentages, scaled batch weights, specific gravity, and test tile outcome notes.
- Clay Test-Bar Shrinkage Record: Record wet, bone-dry, bisque, and glaze-fired reference lengths across different clay bodies to calculate shrinkage % for ruler generation.
Printing instructions
Always select 100% / Actual Size in your printer dialog (do not choose "Fit to Printable Area"). Verify the printed 100 mm calibration bar with a physical ruler before placing sheets in your binder.
